Doggie "Adventures" in Cambria

Being the dog lovers that my husband Phil and I are, we naturally look for hotels that will accomodate our four legged companion, Gracie (she's just the sweetest thing). So, after receiving my Travel Zoo Top 20 list (every Wednesday, just sign up with your E-mail), we saw a fantastic deal for the Cambria Pines Lodge in well, Cambria, CA. So off we went this past January for two nights. We were pleased with everything about this lodge, our warm little cabin with a fireplace, beautiful gardens to stroll through (with Gracie), and a very friendly staff. This little town has the feel of being in the mountains, yet you are right on the California coastline. Every day, we took Gracie to Moonstone Beach, where we could walk along the boardwalk (leashes required) and enjoy the crashing Pacific surf. There is also a spot where you can view enormous elephant seals (follow the coast about 3 miles north of Moonstone Beach and there will be an "elephant seal viewing point" turnout). Cambria is just a great place for dog-lovers to vacation. Gracie did not have one bad thing to say about it.
